Two costly misses?

Twice in the span of an year, I was within five yards of two very important people - of enormous stature in their respective nations. And on both occasions, all that I managed was a smile and I had only muted images to take back....

If I did not quite know what I wanted to say, when I saw Dr Manmohan Singh in December 2003 in the lavish banquet hall in the Parliament Annexe - In February 2005, I was yet to learn my lesson, when I saw Mr William Brown, the Chancellor of the Treasury(the British equivalent of India's Finance Minister), in much less pretentious environs however- at a bus stop just outside King's as he waited for his car to arrive after a lecture there.
At the Bus Stop just outside King's College on Stamford Street from where I board the bus to go home everyday, I learnt an important lesson which I hope not to forget. Something I should have learnt an year earlier!

Dr Singh went on to become India's most powerful man, and I wonder what's in store for Mr Brown, with Britain's elections fast approaching?
